SILK PROTEIN TECHNOLOGY

Biomere is currently focusing on tackling revolutionary knee joint implant based on Silk Fibroin (SF) proteins which was first developed and successfully delivered for a DARPA project.

SF protein polymer, an eco-friendly polymer, is an ideal substitute of current metal alloys, ceramic and polyethylene based implants to prevent wear and corrosion debris and further facilitate bone cell regeneration. Its unique polymer structures possesses mechanical properties, biocompatibility and bioresorbability which make it favorable for a broad range of tissue engineering and drug delivery applications.

Biomere is expecting the innovation of SF-based knee implant devices with minimal wear particles and excellent long-term outcomes.
